Breeding & Hop Genetics
The Hop Research Council is currently coordinating and funding the grow-out of elite and advanced hop test varieties for agronomic evaluation, chemistry, and experimental brewing trials. This work supports the hop breeding program headed by Dr. John Henning, a USDA-ARS researcher based in Corvallis, Oregon, and the reestablished USDA-ARS hop breeding program located at the IAREC center in Prosser, Washngton, which is led by Dr. Kayla Altendorf.
